#TheDanGaleaAwards will be donating all money to The Riverdale Housing Animation Group.

This year all awards will have a link attached (this link) and people are encouraged to donate both online and at the live show.

All money goes to Riverdale Housing Action Group, a very small non profit supportive housing organization that houses women who are coming from the shelter system. Most of the women are victims of Violence Against Women. They have 9 houses and 44 units. They serve about 120 tenants. They support women through counselling, house visits, referrals, and programming.

The programming piece of the organization is called Riverdale Housing Animation Programs. This programming helps to reduce social isolation and help teach life skills to our women and children. This programming piece is also to support the many children in our organization, and also our young men in the organization. (Although they are a women’s housing organization, many of the women have had male children who have grown up and are now living with them as well). Our programming is 100% free to all of the tenants and community members. It is of great understanding at RHAP that poverty and low income should not determine the participation people have in programs and our society. The programs run solely on the support of donors. They provide a free march break camp for the kids, a free summer camp for the kids during the summer months, a free Halloween party, holiday party where they give every single tenant and community member a present which is currently what they are fundraising for, they host a monthly women’s group and men’s group, and they have a few other programs as well.

100% of the proceeds will go towards their programming. They are a registered charity. Also excepting canned food, and gift cards!
